I have named her Grun Hilda.

68 911L in what I think is Conda Green. Nothing too special, SWB left hooker on carbs. And a longer term project

I'm keen to avoid mistakes in the beginning and to build an entirely legal Sb car. Won't skimp on a cage or fire suppression...

Fire supression is no longer a CAMS requirement.

That said, a few of us still carry an extinguisher. I figure my motivation is going to be stronger than a fire marshalls.

Looking forward to a new restoration thread John. Not sure how you do it - either your wife has got used to you being in the shed, or prefers it that way

I think it's the latter mate

This will not be a restoration per se... It's actually in very good condition and fit for purpose.

John official information can be found here:

    http://www.cams.com.au/motor-sport/h...on-and-process

    including:

    - Historic Classification Logbook Application Form Group N and S

details of the car, specifications and photos etc. Car needs to comply with Vehicle Group S Specification. Ive attached the specific one for Porsche 1964-1969 which fits the category of Group Sb racing. The rest can be found here:

    http://www.cams.com.au/motor-sport/h...specifications

    - Safety cage information by category

Group S "Safety cage to comply with Schedule J of the CAMS Manual"
Safety cage to be Type 2 (Type 2 - Half Cage incl Targa Roofed Vehicles) or 3 (Full Cage)

    - Eligibility Officer

Car need to be inspected by CAMS sanctioned Eligibility official with understanding of historic race cars to determine if it meet the specification for the car for Group S. List can be found here, I havent uploaded it because names and people will change.

    http://docs.cams.com.au/Motorsport/H...0page_2013.pdf

    - Pre-race inspection/audit

A safety inspection of the car is required by a CAMS sanctioned Scutineer official

Once youve done all of the above then submit the completed application, digital photographs, safety cage paperwork, any existing logbooks and payments to CAMS ! Voila ....

Please note this information was accurate at 3.6.13
