Just an FYI. Rennsport is not a PCA event, it is Porsche. PCA helps Porsche out with the corrals and other parts, but it is an event administered by Porsche. With that said, I believe this decision was very painful for Porsche to make. If there is a silver lining, it is that they did not cancel the event. We have to remember that Rennsport is ultimately a marketing event for Porsche. It would only make sense that they would want to showcase their 919 prototypes. Remember how often we asked Porsche when they were going to return to Prototype racing at Le Mans? btw, PCA and PCNA are both independent of each other. While we weren't thrilled that the date was changed, when we were told the decision was made and not up for discussion.

Facts and sources are now in writing...

I was hoping that PCA, PCNA (where most of the Porsches are sold, in USA) would have kept the original dates and stood up for us. The negative economic trickle effect it has started will never be realized. How it is making the common guy pay cancellation fees on flight, to the business man losing money and being away from his family, to the Monterey Peninsula losing money with 2 major events the same weekend instead of splitting them.

Who would have noticed if the "future racing heroes" did not attend?

I'm now booked there also - the Hyatt tried to stiff me so simple chose a more amenable hostelry....

received this from the track - pity the hyatt didn't have the same discussion about existing confirmations....

Porsche Rennsport Reunion V has moved to September 25-27 due to conflicting dates with the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Fuji, Japan, which would have significantly impacted the quality of Rennsport by pulling away vital assets needed for the prestigious event.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Porsche Cars North America have been working together to move the date to accommodate all the many elements that are being planned for another successful Rennsport.

“Our fans are our first priority and we appreciate their support,” explained Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “While it was a difficult decision for both organizations to make, the end result will be a far stronger and more impactful event for everyone who attends and participates.”

All existing orders will automatically transfer to the new date and customers will receive an updated confirmation. If customers are unable to attend, please contact ticketing@mazdaraceway.com or call the ticket office by March 2, 2015 at 831-242-8200 for a full refund.

    Best regards,
    Wendy Carvalho

We pulled out of the Hyatt successfully (to their credit) and have rented a house for the duration - It's actually saving us all a few bucks from the original Hyatt booking. Lost out on the change of air fares though - I used the wrong credit card... the one without automatic travel insurance $1500 to correct flights.

    The sting is most painful

Has anyone formally offered Porsche AG a "Far Queue" from the fans for so royally stuffing us around? I get that they feel it had to happen, but I haven't seen anyone offer an apology for the inconvenience (or is that admitting liability in the States? )
