Thread: How many RHD 1967 911S?

  1. #1

    How many RHD 1967 911S?

I saw an advert today in the UK http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C396459.

I have a 67S that is original RHD, and I was wondering if there was someone out there that had started to record those that were still around.

I will put it out there that mine is 307687S. The advert says that there were only 34 produced (is this correct? - who knows?)

Keen to find out if that is a) correct, and b) how many survive today.

AndyS (?) I think you have one also from memory under restoration?

My car has a sunroof and was delivered new into Malaysia.

The matching numbered engine and gearbox are on the shelf.

A picture of it now racing in Group S in Australia is below.

Love to hear from other owners who have original RHD 67S's and build a database of a pretty unique early cars...

Seems a reasonable number Alex as only 35 69S cars were delivered into Britain % into Austrlai so I estimate less than 50 worldwide so 30 odd 67S RHD is in the right area.

Hi Alex, do you have any contacts through your work, at the factory who could shine a light on these numbers?
I would be interested to find out how many 68s were delivered to RHD market also.

Sean in short no. I need chassis numbers to confirm country of delivery, as a generic listing of actual cars and respective chassis numbers does not exist to my knowledge.

Later numbers exist - from 70 onwards, but the early cars the numbers (how many) are sketchy at best.

I guess only as a rough guide, 40% rest of Rhd market added to UK delivery numbers (largest Rhd market?) is the closest we can come to the total figure delivered.
    How many have survived,who knows...

Mike, "210bhp own's another. One i found for a good friend," Maybe should have bought this myself " http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/vie...p?f=28&t=32907.

Mike is a bit of an expert on this. Maybe he will chime in.

I had that number of 35 UK 1967S's as well. I have a record of only 4 Australian ones at this stage, although i am certain there would have been a few more. There were however only 32 cars of all descriptions ordered for Australia in the 1967 model year. The breakdown was not recorded / has been lost in the mists of time at least by the late 1980's which is when i have my information from (ie pre-Porsche takeover of Hamilton)

I would be surprised if there were more than 50 RHD 67 S's.

I have another (partial) global list of cars and using that if 1967 MY starts at 305101 and ends at 308523, i have about 12 on that list including the 4 Australian ones i have recorded, yours Alex, and some UK ones.

Alex do u have a number for the one for sale in UK, if so i will check if it is on my list

I can help u with some of the numbers from here if u want to but by PM as i dont think it is right spreading them all over the web

Sean i believe that the number of S's to the UK in 68 was about the same as in 1967 - i have both 33 and 35 recorded from different sources. However i dont have much on Australia and only have records of 2 cars.
