    Local sources for parts restoration

Wanted to devote a thread for local sources for parts and restorations. A few areas that would be helpful are:

    general plating (for fasteners)
    anodizing
    chroming
electrical (gauge restorations, rebuilt alternators/startors, electrical wire/connectors)
    media blasting
    paint
    chemical dipping

    others?

We live in/near the Motor City. These resources must be abundant, and yet, it seems I'm always shipping parts out of the midwest.

Plymouth Plating in Plymouth, MI does a fantastic job on hardware plating at a reasonable rate.

Theres an anodizing place in Taylor, MI that does anodize trim restoration. I haven't used them but the chrome plater I use sends their anodized stuff to them. Last job I did I used Charlotte Anodizing in Charlotte, MI but I had to do the prep work.

Bob's Speedometer can do the gages over there, but it's expensive and takes a long time. Not sure about other electrics as I use a place in Charlotte, MI that is close to me. I source my wiring stuff from YNZ wiring out west.

I used Custom Chrome out of Grafton, OH
There is also an inexpensive route in Jackson, MI called Westlund Manufacturing. Not high end show chrome but reasonable driver chrome.

Good info, Brad. Any others have experiences to share?
