    The VIN is a 1968 911S, but the engine is a late 1966. Please tell me, or post a photo of the build # on the engine below the 901/05.
    I would pull the knee pad below the dash and find the body # stamped below the radio opening.m Once you get the top of the dash off, this # should also be written in grease pencil on the left side. What about the paint badge? Documenting the various VIN locations, and other numbers is an important first step. Transmission? Since the 1968 had a collection of unique parts, you will need to inventory what you have.

    I have a picture of the engine type but the building # is not clear.
    Chassis and engine are still at te sellers workshop - tomorrow I am going there to pick it up and more pictures will be available.

    Regarding the transmission, there are two 901 gearboxes with the car. Hope one of them is the original... But still don't have all the information about the car - original painting, interior, options, etc...
