Hi Clyde- I would post a picture, but for some reason I am having trouble getting it to download. You posted a thread "where to buy a Hirschmann electric aerial" and my antenna is the same as the picture posted by Longranger in that thread. Mine did not come with the mounting bracket though.

This went from a small job to a project,,,, I know,, what did I expect! When I wire this, the ground and the e wire which goes to the radio are easy, but does anyone know where the power is tapped from? Did this go to the fuse box, and to which fuse? Did it have a separate in line fuse?

The idea to use the switch in the dash is diminishing as I think it is not an oem switch. Eliminating it makes this easier. I was able to obtain some factory information from a fellow S Reg member, but it does not show where to tap the hot lead.

    Thanks for the help.

John, when I removed the funky wiring for the non-correct radio, there was an inline fuse that connected to both the radio and antenna. Its source was from the heavy red connector as mentioned previously in this thread.

The radio also had its own inline fuse after that junction. Not sure why but when I reinstall a correct radio I will follow that idea. I like protecting the radio, especially after having it re$tored.
