    . . .
Interesting that you bring this car/topic up

SM had two Early 911s . . . that I know about, any way

    The first is 119300193 = the '69 --- the car that his son Chad still has . . . see post #21 . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ity-Cars/page3

    The second is 9110301502 . . . a car w/ the distinction of being the most expensive 911 ever sold at auction . . . and not even by a little . . . see post #20 . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ity-Cars/page2

Now, The Story has always been that SM ordered his '70 911 'color-to-sample' --- slate grey = special color . . . picked it up @ The Faktory, drove it for a time, then returned it for a different gearbox --- LSD?, special ratios?, something.

Anyway, what's always intrigued me was that the '70 car --- as I recall . . . was originally supposed to've been delivered in late '69

But then I note the VIN = 1502

    I have a car that was delivered sometime before April '70 --- 4-to-5 months, after . . . . VIN = 1059

Maybe someone w/ a VIN close to SM's 1502 car can comment about their build-date --- Mr Conklin (cornpanzer), perhaps . . .

    . . . but I've always wondered about 1502's VIN apparently appearing so early . . .

I was hoping to see something about a car I saw 40 years ago in St. Helens, Oregon. It was a 911 or 912 that had a backwards sunroof. It opened over the back seat area and went forward when you opened it. It was owned by the cousin of an acquaintance of mine. He said that it had been built by Porsche for one of the women Porsche family members.

Anyone know anything about that car?

    Exactly like that.

Do you know the history of the car? Does it match the version I heard?

Story about Louise Piech in the Austrian "Auto Revue".
See the Plate S 200, always used by Mrs. Piech.
