Thanks, Nick. I have Bilstein struts as well so I could go either way.

It's been a while since I've updated things here. Car is in primer and we've applied the SKS to the underside. It's a nice medium coat. The Wurth gun applies it so nicely. I have the solvent based Glasurit 22 line ready to go on in the original Light Ivory the car came with from the factory. We can still get the good stuff in Oregon. I'll paint the whole car in the body color and then go back and black out the engine compartment and wheel wells. I like to do this so down the road many years later as the black wears off the body color will come through just like the factory did it. A lot of work went into getting the gaps as perfect as possible and custom fitting the roll bar and many other things. The fun part is starting now.

Looking good Scott. Question - that roll bar you have in there, factory vintage piece or repro from TRE?

It's a TRE set back bar with the diagonal added.

Most will think I'm way too OCD to do this step but I like to think that years down the road as the black fades the original body color will show through some day. I really like this detail on the original cars I've owned. This will all get painted over in black as it's a 71 but I do it anyway. The front area behind the bumper and on the battery boxes I'll keep body color as the factory did as you'll see in a picture I've provided of an original paint 71. The fenders will be painted on the car as well as the door hinges and front trunk hinges like the factory did. I know I'm crazy but whatever.
