I think that is for a later car, pretty sure the 67 is made to clamp around the fender support. If no one else has a picture I'll take one of mine tomorrow.

My 73 oil tank lower support bracket that mounts to the fender support, looks exactly like the one pictured but it is painted black. Gled

lwbs and swbs oil tanks have different attachment position and inclination in that area.

The part posted is an already produced Lwb oil tank latch.

It should be black if original.

Unfortunately the swb one's is different and NLA.

I found a nos piece only once in a collection some time ago...

Franz, Andrea70, Ed Mayo, and Buddeman, thanks for entering this conversation. Andrea70 confirms my belief that the 67 support configuration is indeed different from the later ones. Franz's piece is the same as the one Buddeman kindly sent pictures of, and hence will not fit the 67 system. The shot of #48 in the PET that Franz shows is, I believe, the "proper" clamp, but it is impossible to know what it looks like (size, etc) from the photo. The parts books does show a different support/clamp with a different part number listed as starting 1969 which I believe is the part Franz is producing. So, where are we? Awaiting the photo that Ed Mayo will submit showing the device on his 67. This should be definitive. Again, thank all of you for your help on this mystery. Jim
