The dash never had any facia other than the carpet the glovebox door was added later in its life but it clearly does not match
there is no bracket for the ashtray and the knee pad was a one piece unit

Very cool find oli...glad Porsche Classic was able to give you that info at least.

That felt on the dash is found in a lot of the factory lightweight cars, and they used that same material for the headliner. Did you find any felt there?

Was the gasoline heater listed on the Kardex? Perhaps the gas heater is there for rallying in a cold climate since there was no other heat. Or maybe the guy who built the slant nose out of it had an extra gas heater lying around and it was easier than adding the exhaust heat exchanger system.

Uncovering these mysteries is part of the fun!

    Please keep us updated.

Yes traces of black felt are still there on the headliner and rear deck
Gas heater is definitely factory installed
The kardex is missing the info regarding its original dealer or owner
Could it have been use by the factory ? Given to a driver ? A close customer?

Yes, this ltwt could have been retained for factory use for a while and perhaps loaned to a rally team, prominent driver or Porshe company executive.
