I have recently bought a 1970, 911T with factory fitted sunroof. I wondered if having a sunroof coupe is considered a good/rarer option? (Assuming it works and doesn't leak etc.....) what do people prefer
Cheers,
Jos

Perhaps depends on where you live - I think in general a more rare option and thus more valuable - in Southern California considered by many a highly valued option.
There was a thread on this a while back, and I think most found it to be highly desirable, except for someone who is very tall (like 6'3" or taller I think). I'd sure love to have one, and I do believe they are somewhat rare.

Depends on your intended purpose for the car.
If you want to build a race car you don't want a sunroof.
If you're over 6', it's hard to fit in a sunroof car with a helmet.
I like mine, but wish I could get in the car with a helmet for some autocross action.
Despite the notion of a sunroof being rare, I certainly see more with than without.

Frank, while being on the subject, i encountered the other day a 73 sunroof car, but manual, how common is this. Tha cable broke and had to make the end. None of the older cables 69-73 worked.

Aftermarket.
I see more with sunroofs than without and while I live in So Cal and like sunny days, I don't like sunburn or wearing smelly, oily sunscreen, so a sunroof would stay closed anyway. I like the shade of a tin top and the breeze from the windows down. Once we get into winter it would be the season to break out a Speedster or Spyder. To me sunroofs are just added weight (up high too), lost headroom, and more chance to leak.
