    68 911s - 1st drive

    Well, after a 13 year slumber, I changed the fluids, battery, primed the carbs, broke the reverse lever front bracket that connects the throttle to the carbs, removed it, welded it, installed it, broke it again...sigh.... re-installed it, primed it... crank crank crank.... sigh... seemed like a century to start, sputtered and died. Turned it on, waited for the float bowels to fill (Shell 91), cranked and it roared to life.

    Major leaks... none. The few drips from the rocker covers (right side) were expected. It needs heat exchangers and tires. Clutch engagement is at the very top, but it shifted well. ( How do you adjust the clutch? ). Everything works, horn, lights, turn signals, wipers... it's in better shape than a lot of cars I've seen lately.

    Wow, that is a tall aftermarket ducktail. I like the rest though. Enjoy the rolling restoration process!
