Thread: Fitting head light buckets into fender.

Fitting head light buckets into fender.

The trip ring on my right front fender would not stay attached. The lip at the top would not stay connected. I took the trim ring off the drivers side. I measured from the fender to the lip on the bucket and I get about 6mm. On the passengers side I only get about 3mm. It looks to me like the bucket is mounted into the fender with some kind of weather stripping or industrial tape on the back side. Mine has been painted over. I did loosen a bolt in the bottom of the bucket that attaches to a mount under the bucket in inside the fender. How is the bucket mounted? It looks like it simply needs to be pushed further into the fender. Thanks in advance. Don

Should have searched first. I see that they are welded in place. Will need to get creative.
