    On line torque settings

I just came across this site looking for how much to torque my oil pressure valve cap:

    http://www.torkspec.com/torkspecmm.aspx?KI=458

I have no idea where its information comes from, or how accurate it was. But, it definitely has the cap torque setting I was looking for (44.2 ft lbs).

I have the Clymer book. It has lots of torque settings and charts. But this cap was not one of them.

I just use a 1/2" drive breaker bar! Its a matter of feel. You can tell when the screw thread wants to stop as it starts to crush the seal ring.

"Just turn it 'til your elbow clicks."

My elbow clicks at about 18 ft/lbs.

Ohhhh. Sometimes that grain of truth behind every joke is too painful ... though still hysterical.
