    Clearly no one lives in Northern California it's a vast empty space with nothing happening. I shall squat upon it...

    I flew from Detroit to San Francisco, and watched for hours at the empty land that makes up the Rocky mountains. You could squat upon it and no one would notice.

    There is plenty of land in California that you could squat upon and nobody would notice, too.
