the cut out was done to give the wiper motor clearance...since the 930 air duct on the engine lid made a different wiper motor position necessary ....
and the apertuere change was before the 964...on the 964 its again very different

I wasn't referring to the catch aperture, but the ends of the panel where it runs into the body. Rounded vs the angled version. I think that is what prompted this thread.

Man, you guys have some great eyes!

Sorry to say, but I believe there are a lot of early cars are being cut up and new Chassis # put in to better old bodies. Pretty soon, what's real and what's not. My hat is off to you guys that want to record what's real. Keep it up!

I have proof that this happened with at least one restored 1964 car I inspected. But it's also strange that so many restored cars suddenly lost their six pleat seats, including Seinfelds car. His car and at least one more in these pics of 1964 cars were restored at Porsche. They should know these things...

I stand corrected, we are currently restoring a 77 - note the position of the wiper motor

this was the difference in catch that I was referring to on the 964 models

sorry for the off-topic thread !

And I have the right to comment on this, since the interior of my 1964 car is pure reference material. Nothing wrong here...

Ok, for the nerds now: besides the steering wheel, the rev counter, the laptimer, the rollcage, the lack of cloth on floor and doors, the wrong seat, the missing centers of two meters, the wrong location of the gas lid release cable, the wipers and the fire extinguisher, there's two more incorrect parts. Can you spot them?

My guess, the chrome bezel on the headlight pull.
