    How's the F-40 reconstruction going?
Perfectly. Because I opted for a full frame up restoration instead of just putting on new clams, it has an entirely new carbon body (real carbon not the crap they made twenty years ago) that is fitted perfectly to the car. I also went ahead and got a bunch more LM parts that I should have acquired before and those will be here shortly. With luck, it will be back on the road by the new year in its new stronger, lighter, better form. Oh, and I converted it to a Euro.

Anyways, back to Chris' great work which I don't want to take away from...

Please start a thread on the F-40! I take it you are in Europe?

Thank you. I'm very excited to work on this project and I cannot wait to show it off when it's done. I appreciate all the comments here and on the other forum. It's encouragement.

I picked up some hardware from the plater today. I love how 40 year old hardware can be made to look new again.

I had the hubs powdercoated, then machined and balanced to be perfect.

A random assortment of powder coated parts I had blasted in my garage.

    Some more metal work updates.

A/C component holes closed up nice and clean.

The washer bottle no longer goes here, so let's close it up!

The torsion bar hole first needed to be closed up so that the factory early style hole could be remade ... but ... I like how it looks closed up and the use of coilovers make the holes obselete. Hrm. I think I'll keep it closed just to be different and maintain a clean appearance. Flame suit on for the haters ...

I picked up the trim pieces from the plater today. Here's a sneak peak:

How do you mimic the factory seam on the drip rail?

    By making your own tool:

With a bit of lead work at the seams and a spot welder, it will appear factory.

One more side to go, then it's off to the paint booth.
