    Uprated SWB Drive Shafts

I have been worrying about Hub/CV joints on SWB cars for some time now.

Last year we made new hub flanges for the trailing arms and we have been refurbishing CVs for a while now but good core units are becoming difficult to find.

I have decided to make new flanges for both the wheel hub and the transmission and use the 100mm diameter CV.

GKN Motorsport make a lightened version of this CV with +/- 14mm of plunge. The 25 spline bore is compatible with the original SWB Drive Axles.

We will make them from a 300M VAR Steel and fully heat treat to a condition that will optimise fatigue performance.

Should be done by early 2014.

What does it typically cost to refurbish original CVs if the cores are supplied?

I would be interested too! Is there a list to get on?

Will you be making transmission flanges for all SWB differentials? There were three versions.

    John,

I don't think we will make one for the simplified diff as they were not great at the best of times.

We will make one for the original diff but try to do away with the need for the aluminium cap and also one for the LSD that used a Lobro.
