Cool 1968 911s - Value. Looking to sell.

Trying to get a value on my 68 911s as I am interested to sell. Two previous Cdn owners. Needs door cards, headrests and the OEM steering wheel. Purchased it sight unseen. Changed the fluids, new plugs, oil & filter, fluids, new battery. Freed up the calipers & took it for a 100km round trip drive without issues. Pulls nice, didn't see any smoke. Floors are good. Rockers are solid. Previous repaint. Everything works. Except the clock. I've ordered a COA as I'm getting conflicting stories on the rear spoiler. Some say it never came with it, others, it was an option. Don't understand the tan interior with the grey carpets, but what do I know. VIN is 11801XX so a RoW car. Carbs are Zenith 40 ITN. (Thank-you to the folks who helped me when I first got it) I spoke to the PO at length after I took down every part & VIN # I could find. Confirmed it was used sparingly. He purchased the car with the non-OEM steering wheel & lost the headrests. Doesn't recall any induction issues, so I suspect the carbs were changed by the 1st owner. I have clear title. Had some folks in the EU & UK offer me some crazy numbers, but find it hard to believe. Would appreciate the groups help. I'm located in Toronto.

If you read my profile, I am a car dealer in Toronto. I do vintage Mercedes, Lancia's, Alfa's, race-cars etc. I admit I know absolutely nothing about Porsche. Wanted everyone to know that. It's also listed in my profile.

Plumber, if you want to see it, better call me in the next few days as I'm putting it away for the winter alongside your B, which is now mine

Ducktail came out on the 356. Must be factory option for 68!

Welcome to the forum. Post plenty of photos and some knowledgable folks will help you out. A few things I notice from the information you have provided:

    - It will sell for more with the correct decklid, plus somebody will buy that ducktail from you.
    - Tach is incorrect for 911S. Check the back for a date stamp.
    - The chassis number you gave is missing a digit.
    - Correct 911S 40IDS Webers will be hard to find but can be had for a price.
    - Check the back of the Fuchs for date stamps. The more correct and complete parts the more you'll get for the car.

It'll be interesting to see what the COA says. I've never seen a red / tan interior / grey carpet combination on an early 911.
Re ducktail, yes, looks good, but it's my understanding they didn't get introduced until 1972.

Ducktail is certainly aftermarket, was a common "upgrade" back then.
Has it got the paint tag in the drivers door jamb?

    Nice car.

My guess red is a later respray, the car had originally another exterior color.
Most likely beige carpets changed to black.
    1972/1973 2.4l front spoiler.
As vipergruen said, Ducktail is aftermarket.
(It was standard only on 1973 RS - which never got sold in the US anyhow).

looks like a solid car, many factors to consider, originality, condition, rebuild history, etc
but i personally would not take anything less than 30-40k for it based on what is shown here, you should keep it as the value will go up tremendously
