Thread: Another great video from Petrolicious

  1. #21
Well, it was supposed to look like the mid-engined 250LM so that Enzo could homologate that car in the GT class as an "evolution" of the GTO, just as the 250 GTO was an "evolution" of the 250SWB. I like the front, but prefer the 250/275 LM.

    They all sound great though!

Ahhh thanks for the info. That soundtrack is incredible. I have listened to it a few times. I think this is the better looking car:

Wonderful video of my favorite car! Thank you!

I still remember how Phil got angry with his son Derek who had just severly damaged the Ferrari 275 GTBC they were driving in the 1997 Tour de France Auto. Here photo on the original programme brochure from 1997 attached...

It is interesting to compare the profile of the Series II GTO with the 250LM. Nothing like the sound of a 12 cylinder racing engine, though I think a prefer a non-turbo 917 flat 12 .

Of the two, I prefer the 250LM; of course, the flat 12 of the early 917 is something else... But, on the road, I'd go for the 250LM... I followed one around Hyde Park in London quite a few years ago and was stunned by its beauty...

Petrolicious highlights a 914-6 this time around. Also, they have some sort of gathering planned w Hagerty:

Some 80s Vee Dub love on Petrolicious. Having owned a GTi of the same era, and two of my brothers owning Sciroccos, it's fun watching this video for anyone who has owned one. Owner is Jason Camissa- editor at Road & Track.

Great flashback thread. I had a first gen scirocco that was a fantastic auto x car in college. Pirelli p7 175/50 13 recaps were the way to go. Lowered the gears with lots of stick. And did great until a 914-4 showed up. Later a 2nd gen 16v gti. Couldn't keep the thieves from taking the BBS wheels. Eventually they took the whole car.

had my share of GTIs....great fun car. I dug the Corrado as well. I enjoyed a 16v engined jetta..till it was stolen from Queens. My date that nite wanted some real action ..I declined as I was too sick over the missing jetta.....true..never saw her again..wonder y?

I like well done modded Mk1's now. Some1here built a nice one...
