Thread: does any one know of a 73 2.4S RHD Viper Green imported from the UK?

    Hi Guys
Thats great, I bought the Car from a Realestate agent in North ride in 1985/6? for ...16K which I new was a steal.
The Car originally had the "English Mirrors" halfway along the frount guards, it had the Sports Seats which were in Excellent condition , less the head rests. It had 64 thousand Miles on it when I bought it. I had the mirrors removed and the frount repainted. I still have the mirrors and of all things a spare petrol flap in the original colour!
Ian Hamilton serviced the car and did his version of the timming chain mod by putting a bolt inside the tensioner. I tracked Ian down in Cairns and he tells me that Nick at Autohause should have the service records as Ian kept them all, however thats not the case.
I need dig out some pictures.

    Cheers
    Graeme

    Hi Guys
Hugh in particular thats great info.

The car was bought in 1986 from a realestate Agent in North Ryde for the pricely sum of 16K! who needed a quick sale for a 928, which I latter learnt missed out on the deal .
The car had the classic english mirrors bolted halfway down the guards. I had those removed and the guards repainted. The car had the original ealry sports seats but no head rests. I tried to buy some both here and in the UK but finished up with some BMW ones that fitted.

The car was very clean and very original even thought it had 65K miles showing when I bought it. at the time I had it serviced by Ian Hamilton, and since spoken to Ian and Nick but the old service documents are no more.
I did show it at the Porsche Concourse in 87 after an extensive clean up.
The Last thing I have heard of the car its now a race car, probably because its was English. It did have a small amount of rust in the rear right lower part of the bumper, which was stripped and repaired and painted.

I hope some of the detail helps jog some ones memory.
    Kind regards
    Graeme

there were 9 1973MY 2.4S coupes delivered here and another 6 targas. Only one of the Coupes was viper green.
there were also 6 1972MY 2.4 S coupes delivered, again only one in viper - which was a "special" car as it was converted to RS specs by the local Porsche people using factory parts including 2.8 P&C before delivery to the first owner (a "special friend of the factory").
however i dont have records of cars privately imported since then which your car seems to have been if it was originally a UK car. So sorry i cant help on that side.
    Hi Hugh
The info is very helpfull thank you. makes me even more annoyed I sold the car, however thats life.
I will keep searching only as I am hoping it has been preserved not turned into something its not.

    Regards

They are 25 year old glossy pictures and when scanned give a Metalic appearance, I can garrantee the car is a solid colour and a bit darker than actual.

Seems as though your problem is solved.

I do know of an English Viper Green 72S that was changed to Silver and it is here in Victoria.
