    this (my) 911 is the only early 911 on auction at Scottsdale? Really, cant believe....

    nobody is selling or no one is interested in our Beautys?

    Hello Morghan, thank you, but, Car is Not Sold, it's no Reserve and Cars like this are really harder and harder to find!
    The Car has it all, when you are looking for original, Not restored with all Papers!
    It's Not possible to keep them all, so it's in the market again ;-)

    I hope, no I am sure Gooding is the best Place for it.

    No doubt, an exceptionally rare original example of a 1968 911L.

    1968 was a challenging year for all auto manufacturers selling into the U.S. market. New Federal safety and emission standards came into effect that year. No 911S model imported to the U.S. that year. Note the additional side marker lights unique to that MY 911. If memory serves me correctly, to meet emission requirements, did Porsche use an air pump on '68 U.S. models? Things got sorted out in MY '69 with no air pumps necessary on 911s.

    How times have changed. For many years the U.S. MY '68 911s were considered less desirable (not as valuable) because of these unique single model year modifications to meet U.S. standards.
