    How do I separate a 901 trans from a seized 2.2 from a 71 911T?

Any thoughts on the best way to separate an original 901 from it's original motor that is seized from a 71 911T?

As I understand it, normally the starter would be removed and the motor would be rotated to insert 3 socket head screws with spacers to release the pressure plate. Given the motor is seized rotating the motor is not an option. It is specific to 70's and 71's I am told.

    Thank you in advance.

Quickest way is to rotate TO bearing 90 degrees so throwout arm is no longer engaged, then slide tranny back away from engine and you're done!

Dave is correct . Pull on the end of the release fork to make it easier to turn the TO bearing .

There are flats that the arms of the release fork lay into of the TO bearing. When you pull against the leaf spring the arms come off the flats. Rotate 90*, wala.

Thank you all, I will try to get it separated possibly tomorrow now that it's not 35*F and raining. I guess it could be worse, but for a warm weather kid it's cold.

It hasn't been much warmer in Tempe the last few days...

Make sure the engine and trans are still bolted tight, otherwise you won't be able to rotate the brg.
