    Hi All,

I am in the process of stripping my 911 and I am trying to verify the capacity of my fuel tank, its meant to be 100L

    i found a similiar one on http://retro-sport.com/products/911-...fuel-tank.html

but mine is tu1 0040170 as per the photo below, does anyone have any info or know if this tank is 100L tank

I guess you could measure out 100 l. of water and see if it all fits

Yeah thats my second choice, thought i might see if anyone knew its size from the numbers on the tank. I will try the fill and empty method in the next couple of days.

The original RSR tanks on our site are definitely 110 liters - not 100. If you post a few photos of your tank I'll bet we can tell you the size.

for what it is worth here is the stamping on my 1973 85 litre tank as fitted at factory when new

seems to read 029 - 0172 with date code 5 1973 (the car was completed in late June 73)

also the letters do not look nearly as crisp as yours

Thanks Hugh I appreciate your help.

I am going to post some more photos as requested by Jordan and see if that helps. Otherwise it might be the good old fill it up and measure how much comes out method.

    Hi Clayton
it "looks" about the same size as my 85litre tank....... but is a bit different / earlier and maybe "fuller" on the bottom or perhaps a bit deeper? if so it could hol more but it is hard to compare when most of mine is hidden
what is the date stamp on it? i could not read it on my screen
the larger capacity tanks i have seen, or seen pictures of are shaped differently,,,,,, but i may be wrong and this could be a deep version of mine and hold another 15 litres (not that much depth needed to do that spread over the size of the tank)

    Hi Hugh,

The date is 1972, same as my car, i am pretty sure it came with my car from the factory.
