I have a 65 car with an original headliner buried in our stores but haven't managed to get to it yet.

So far this is what I can buy which is a very light grey

I believe that is the wrong texture

I am trying to complete a '65 and need to make a headliner choice.
Seems there are 2 options out there.
    1. Use what most people have used which has been supplied by Autos Int'l and
Autobahn Interiors and Stoddard. We all know this is a light ivory color and
it seems most everyone agrees it is not correct in color.
    2. Go with the closest light grey material which has been supplied by GAAH as per
Bob67S who I consider to be an authority on the early cars. It does however have
a little too much grain I would agree. But color and pattern appear to be fine.
Why is it that Autos and Tony at Autobahn do not use the light grey from GAAH?
They probably do more cars than anyone else. I am tempted to go with the grey.
Curious if anyone else out there has installed the grey from GAAH? I think once installed the texture will
be hardly noticeable. Color will however be pretty close to correct and pattern good as well. Anyone disagree?

I went with the light grey from GAHH in my 67S and I think it looks great! Yes, the texture is a bit strong but the color and perforation pattern was nearly perfect. Too be honest, the GAHH headliner looks better than the original one and the pattern done by GAHH worked very well.

And for my 69S, I used the GAHH beige headliner.

For 67S did you use #34 GAAH material? That is the light grey.
I can't tell by the picture. Looks good however.

Yes, it was the #34. I would try to get a better picture but I have the car in a remote storage. My paint is a light grey/ivory so the headliner matches almost perfectly.

I have an account with GAHH so if you want one of their headliners, let me know.

In '68 and '69 the headliner was light grey. The sunvisors were also black/grey. But beacuse there isn't any black/grey reproduction of them averybody use the beige headliner to mach the black/beige repro sunvisors. The original grey headliner is still available from Porsche.

I found this repro sunvisor on Siera Madre, looks quite grey to me.

    and indicates 65-68.

I am certain ivory was 69 year on, having owned a USA 69 with original headliner that was ivory but can I seek absolute confirmation that grey was indeed correct for a 68T USA delivered car
