    Spring ring and spring washer - need clarification please

    Do I have it correct that a 'spring ring' is a split ring lock washer and a 'spring washer' is a thin wave washer...reassembling a few things and wanted to confirm the factory parts book terminology for these bits of hardware. Thank you.

    Beware of English translation. Over time I was able to identify original locations of split, spring, star, snoor lock washers and made note of the German description. Then I only refer to German description. Plating is also sometimes noted at the end of the description.

    Porsche used both Form A and B of each in different locations.

    DIN 127A = Spring ring, square ends
    B = Tang ends
    DIN 137A = Spring washer, curved
    B = Wavy

    Thank you Jimmy T...that directly answers my question. Some assembly tasks are obvious which of the two pieces of hardware go where, but I'm doing a few things now where it was not so this helps greatly.

    And further ..... Porsche part numbers go like this :
    DIN 127 form A or B = 900-027-xxx-xx
    DIN 137 form A or B = 900-028-xxx-xx

    And I suppose a “shackle locking washer” is just a round flat washer?
