I was using the exchange rate from Swedish Kroner (as per the original advert) to US $ using XE.com...

My exchange rate came from the original quoted price of 5,990,000 SEK, using XE.com to convert to US$...

Interesting, they quote even its 13394, factory documents cannot show if it was built as a true 902 in October 1964 or -since finished only in December 1964- already in final specification 912.
The five digit shows it clearly as a protoype but since there was no chronological order in chassis building, the chassis could have been left until December, when receiving its engine.

As Aichele wrote in his book (and Long i beleive too), initially the 902 was planned to have a 4 cylinder derivate of the 6 cylinder 901 engine. For budget reasons, it was then decided to use instead a modified 356SC 4 cyl. engine.

Interesting isn't it. .as used as a prototype/versuchwagen it would be logic that the car would feature different details from different years (64/65/66/67) because it was being used by the factory until they sold it the the first owner in May 67.

If you look closely you will find these different details.

The kardex shows no final built date, as would be logical being a versuchwagen.

As for the Swedish currency converter to Euro

Restored by my friend Dennis Frick at Europa Macchina in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, and shown in the Historic Display at the 1998 Porsche Parade in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Dennis and his merry men also restored "Barbarossa", Don Meluzio's 901 prototype.

That car spent years in the Brumos Collection and then Dennis Fricke had it or control of it in the north east. It was for sale a couple of years ago for $250,000.
