    Reproduction Paint Plates

Hi all- One of the goober PO's drill holes for speaker wires through the paint plate. It's also pretty mangled, so I planned to replace it. The repro part 901.701.111.05 is 7mm shorter than the one removed from the car. The fonts and format of the Karosserie and Kunstharzlack boxes are different too. Where can I get a blank plate identicle to the original?

As always, thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Kent- Thanks again for the reply. Yes, it looks like IM part # M548 is the plate I need.

Another question, was it standard to leave the Karosserie box blank?
    Cheers,

My 66 PORSCHE built 911 has the car serial # there! The lower block has the paint code. Not sure if your car is a PORSCHE built 911 or a KARMANN built 911 or in fact a 912 or year?….Cliff

have seen a blank serial box a on some cars but most of the time there is the vin stampt.

if its a karmann body the plate has a karmann lettering on it.

IM offers also a stamping service for the plate...but unfortunately they have only on type of fonts so it might be the incorrect one for most since at least 4fonts have been used in the early days.....karmann and porsche used also different ones in the same year.
