    Wheel police needed

A friend of mine has found this 6x15 wheel, it's VERY light, in elektron we think.
Does anybody know from which car is it?
    Thank you

would it be completely unreasonably to propose that this represents a very early ( please note the '71 date stamp - at least I assume that's a date stamp ) version of a lightweight spare wheel / tire combo, before the space-savers came into widespread use.

If, as it seems to be, this indeed is an all-alloy wheel, then I certainly don't think it's strong enough to be utilized as a normal, full-service road wheel.

    Just thinking out loud……………..

Very interesting - can you weigh it ?

    For comparison an all-steel 6x15in KpZ wheel weighs ~ 8.25 Kg & a steel/alloy 6x15in wheel weighs ~ 5.00 Kg.

What is the part number stamped in the centre - is it 6990 or 6880 (can't quite tell on my monitor) ?

What is the number stamped underneath - 36 ? (if so, that could be the offset which is what the 6in steel wheel has).

Does it look to be cast in one piece or two (with the centre then being welded to the rim) ?

Can you measure the backspace ?
