. . . recently found an amazing original example of a 1973.5 T coupe. It has all original and contingent upon further examination even the paint. The interior is in amazing original unmolested condition. It is a true documented 80,000 mile 2 owner time capsule. I am a little confused on the color code of 517 . . .

. . . I have on my '66 (as stated on my KARDEX) Limited Slip Differential, sunroof, 3 point seat belt and a "one off" special color that just said "Gelb" which means yellow. The color code did not match any of the special colors in any of the catalogs and files at the factory. They say it was a special order car . . .

Any details, like --- the Kardex . . . or the color code, maybe?

. . . had the same issue with my '66 911. My color code has 17616 written on it. After years of research and dead ends I was able to finally obtain its Kardex and it just said "gelb" (yellow) which was not offered as a standard or special color in 1966. I found traces of yellow in the sunroof area which confirmed what was written in the Kardex.

This car was a special order car exported to Bahrain (PO says for the royal family) which came with a number of options.

Ive read somewhere that sometimes they use the color code area to stamp a special order code or simply a color to match code. But I cannot say this for certain . . .

The COA shows "light ivory" with no number, but it left the factory as a custom paint color, a little darker than Bahama Yellow . . .
