Thread: FS: @Bonhams Scottsdale - 1967 Porsche 911 2.0-Liter Coupe

I had the privilege to inspect this car today on Bonham's. The car is truly SPECTACULAR! It's amazing how what could be viewed as a fairly plain normale could be just so sexy. The attention to detail and finish work on the car stands up to my very particular eye. I had a chance to talk to the owner, great guy. Best of luck to him, I hope it sets a record!

Agreed on all accounts that this is a spectacular looking 911. Great result and I'd love to have this car in the garage.

Looks like the coil is a bit out of place in an otherwise well done set of marketing pics…

    Also agreed!

Regarding the picture, I believe it was taken early in the restoration progress, when the restorer was testing the engine.

I have seen it, and it looks correct.

Who was the "marque expert" that restored it?

I think the owner/restorer of this car would be uncomfortable being labled a "marque expert".
He is just a hard working, detail oriented, very experienced, straight up guy by the name of Peter Sorensen.

    Ciao

    Jim

His name is Peter Sorensen owner of PBR restoration in Crockett, CA.
He is an "artist" by heart, a musician and a true lover of classic Porsches. I have Engaged Peter to undertake restoration of my 65.

OK, I just read the auction write-up for this car. Bonham referred to Pete at a "marque expert". That would be their term. Pete is, in fact, a "marque expert" but would never refer to himself as that.

Just looked at the car in person... Photos don't do it justice. Restoration is detailed and precise. Car should sell well and be worth every penny.

Air cleaner is wrong too, but I assume they fixed that.
