I'm fairly new too, hadn't realised you could rate threads...have now added my five stars to readdress the balance!

You're doing a great job....keep the updates coming.

    Cheers,

The dark tan upholstery - based on the rear seats - was pretty cool but it looks like most of the rest of the panels etc had been replaced over the years with a mish mash of colours and vinyls/leathers. As I had committed to wanting sports seats, the most economical approach to that was having Stefan's GTS replicas but that left a question mark over the covering given all panels and the rears had to match. Strangely, the COA showed a special original leather colour for the interior so there was no real way to reference grain and colour for suppliers located half a world away.

Consequently, and after a LOT of sample checking etc, it became obvious that I could get the colour but with BMW or Benz grains or I could get the Porsche grain but not in the right colour…one of the little frustrations of restoring a car - hence I call this a revival. A soft option has been taken with grain matched leather in black for the whole interior along with lightweight Perlon carpets which will lighten the colour field as well in combination with the bone headliner (as opposed to the as bought dark brown naugahyde).

Because I'm not look to make the car 100% original I'm now sort of OK with compromising on this and apart from what the above posts show as non-original, there are a couple of little sweet treats of non-originality to be revealed over the coming months.

And to whoever gave this thread a 'terrible' one star rating….I would have appreciated a PM telling me what protocols etc I may have broken - I'm new here so the last thing I want to do is offend what I see as an intelligent and helpful community.
I think the color you would be looking for is called Cinnamon and it is not available anywhere. I have looked for a long time. If I ever decide to do a new interior I'm not sure what I would do. Fortunately, my Vinyl is in good shape. I'm enjoying your build, not sure why someone would rate his a one star? Maybe they don't understand the star rating. Cheers.

Indeed I am close and the car is currently closer at Mike Baucke's. I was one of the concours judges at the 911 50th anniversary celebrations at Te Papa where your car did well. Let me know if you want a rust free original T front bumper to replace that fiberglas one. ;-)

    Cheers,

Oh, they understand the rating system, alright. I've seen this Guy in action a coupla times, now. Not an accident. Had a bunch of my polls 'dumped-on.' OK -- maybe my polls are kinda stupid/wonky . . . but then someone did the same on Candyce's 'Sepia' thread --- what's w/ that? . . . so I voted to bring-up her rating

    Nothing else to do

While not much is going on with the car over the Summer vacation in terms of work, the parts seem to keep rolling in with the latest delivery hitting the wharf today and now safely at home.

These can be only one thing…

Along with enough matching hide to do all the door panels, parcel shelf etc…

And all the attachments and rear seat squabs etc…

So, better unwrap for a reveal…

And the not quite satanic detail, but a perforated seat squab and back but not extended to knee bolster and upper back panel…

With the Summer vacation (it's a Southern Hemisphere thing) now but a distant memory, work is moving along with the engine now bolting back together to 'short-block' status.

Next update should be some bodywork... cleaning up the luggage compartment and smuggler's box as 'survivors'.
