This place has high butterflies if you are looking for them too

    Thanks Paul,

Those calipers are on my list of things to buy.......just waiting on that lottery win!

I've seen the Elevenparts HB's and they're a good price with the current weakness of the Euro......however for an exact reproduction of the originals I doubt you'd find any better than Bens'

    Cheers,

So, thanks to Marco and Tony I'm now aware that you can buy 78-79 rotors and hats as shown on this PET page....

    Obviously I need items 1 (930.351.047.00) and 2 (930.351.457.01)....next question is do I also need item 3 (ring 930.351.423.00) along with fixings, items 4,5,6,7 & 8?

I appreciate everyone's help and guidance with this.

    Cheers,

3 is the actual Alu hat, 2 is steel support ring behind the rotor, 4 and 5 are the 6mm bolt and the lock tab for attachment. The system is Lug or Castle drive and interchangeability with other systems is limited as the rotor isn't bolted to the hat. 6-7-8 are for caliper mounting. Gordon

Where did you get that hat, where did you get that hat......

Well, my run of good fortune continues ......

I had an estimate from my local OPC for 78/79 930 rotors and hats at the weekend, eye wateringly expensive but ultimately needed.....I very nearly pushed the button on these today but sat tight whilst I chased one other option.....lucky for me I waited!

I visited Ben Coles tonight who kindly said he'd chromate my cam covers for me......whilst we chewed the fat and waited for the chemical to take hold I mentioned my issue trying to source front rotors and hats....'oh, I do those' was his response!.....

...a quick visit to his store and I came home with these.....78/79 Turbo front brake flange (hat, bell) and ring....beautifully reproduced in 7075 and hard anodised to 25 microns .....

....I commented that I couldn't believe after all the items I'd purchased from him that he'd never mentioned these.....'well you never asked' he said!

Turns out there's plenty more products I wasn't aware he produced......he also makes adapted front hats to suit AP rotors.....and those 917 calipers!

So, small fortune saved (didn't even charge me for the chromate) and now just rotors to be ordered from Porsche.....a productive evening and one happy boy.....

....my car will be rolling come this weekend!

    Thanks again for everyone's help.

    Cheers,
