    Speaking for Sports Car Digest, we can only say that private numbers are just that...private. We have a serious database of public sales, i.e. auctions, and Andrew Newton's (not Rick Carey) observation were based on those numbers. That said, we are keenly aware of the speed of the 911 market, as we're trying to buy the right one, and we simply missed the mark on this one. Simple as that.

    I appreciate your honesty and admitting the fact that this article "missed the mark" According to Hagerty there online value guide shows this car at $108,000 for a number one, a number 2 car would be $78,000.
