    SWB cowl vent color

I am a bit confused and can not find a reference for the color of the cowl vent frame for a 65/66 SWB.

Does anyone have old factory pics or etc. that shows the correct color combo? I have seen lot´s of different combos on my own cars but also on pictures.

    • Black frame and grill
    • Bright anodized frame and black grill
    • All anodized

    Anyone?

If you mean the frame and grill at the top edge of the bonnet, then black frame and grill.

My 66 swb was a one owner, unmodified car left unused from 1977.

Painted black or black anodized? Did they actually use black trim on cars of this age and era?

    Have a '67:
Just gently media blasted mine. The way it stripped (easily), I'd say it was painted. Re-painted with "SEM Trim Black" (satin black).
I also believe the factory brushed on some semi-gloss in the grille area over the paint, so the car color did not show through. Similar to what was done elsewhere on the car. Hope that helps. Brian

If it matters, my 68 is original and is black anodized.

Mine was painted, looked like satin black but hard to tell after all the years of neglect.

It always matter . Thanks for letting us know. Does anyone know if the factory did ANY black anodizing prior to 68?
