Original 73 front chassis paint (I think)

In preparation to do some touch up to the chassis, I did some cleaning this aft and shot some pics. I am only assuming the paint on the tub is from factory so I'm going to replicate it as close as I can get it. Here are some progress pictures.

Your car looks great, I hope to get the fenders off one of my '73Ts this spring to give it a good clean and some repairs.

I think there is some discussion on here about the correct paint (black areas) from year to year.
Here's a link to a cleaned up '73, this car is also in threads here

All those areas have body color as a base with black being added afterwards, is there a reason your painter didn't spray those areas? Makes it a lot simpler to then apply the black over it.
    Car is looking great.
Primer, body schutz, body color paint, then black.

David - It was my decision to cut the paint off there. I wanted to preserve as much of the original as possible. Not sure if it was the right decision - I'm feeling my way through this process.

OK - that matches what that 73 looked like in the link above. Thank you!

And Mark, don't do it too neatly. Do it sloppy, with a brush, like the Factory did. They didn't want body color to show through the horn grilles.
