    All, I need some help.
How wat were the sidewalls of the carpet in the luggage room attached to the inner fenders in 1965? I assume this was glued. If so, was the whole area glued or just the upper part?
Advice welcome before I screw up my nice black paint.

    Txs John!

I have been looking for a webasto heating tube, the sandcolor one, but have not found it in 5cm diameter? I found the correct one, only it is 6cm. Who knows where to buy this?

The entire inner fender area, fuel breather and all, is glued (with far too much glue!) on my 65 911. I cleaned it as part of the resto and "originality" will have to suffer as I will not re-glue. Not for the purist, but you can use a few pieces of Velcro or strategically placed and concealed small black painted head sheet-metal screws. It doesn't take much to keep the two carpet pieces in place ... after you "hand form" them.

If you look carefully in the sill area you will also find that the carpets have been 'nailed' in place with some relatively long tacks - There are typically 5-6 of these tacks each side.

I do have some photographs buried away and will try to find them.

    Zinc/Yellow (gold) Plated Heater Valves?

Always thought heater valves were painted a reddish-color. However, the pair removed from my 65 911 #1744 and subsequently cleaned up had no signs of paint, instead it appears to have been originally zinc/yellow (gold) plated, which is odd because most all other plating on these early cars is clear zinc (silver). Has anyone else come across heater valves finished this way or is mine an anomaly?
