Smile Special early 1964 features on 1965 cars

It could be interesting to establish how long did special 1964 features continue to appear on 1965 built cars:

Vin: 300492 (delivered new on 9 March 1965):

    - still has 6 vertical folds on front seats
    - still has early exchangers
    - still has early lower dash
    - still has 4 screws on front vents
    - still has leather gear change base
    - has the 911 script on the lid but NOT on the glove box
    - no longer has fuel door release inside the door pilar
    - no longer has the flat engine bay lid
    - no longer has the longer engine hood

Vin: 301666 (sold on 12/7/1965 in California, so I presume 7 december 1965):

    - no longer has 6 vertical folds
    - heat exchangers were replaced in 1984, not sure what type was originally mounted
    - still has early lower dash
    - still has 4 screws
    - still has leather gear
    - has BOTH the 911 script on the lid and on the glove box

    What happened in between?

Establishing by Vin numbers when early features were dropped would be helpful (it would help me know if early exchangers were originally on 492 )

What unique 1964 features were missing for 300492, and when did they end?

Did this go anywhere? Specifically engine lid grills.
Trying to establish when they dropped the tall version.

    early lower dash yes
    leather shift boot yes
    leather hand brake boot yes

    txs, will update later.

1/ Are the features listed distinctive ones?
I have some doubts about the following:
    - rubber mats: did any car manufactured jan.-jul 1965 have rubber mats or was carpet standard all the way?
    - 911 script on lid, 4 screw horn grills, 4 screw dash, early lower dash, leather shift knob: didn't all cars have that
    - early exchangers: probably not distinctive, see NeunElf remark

2/ are there other features that changed during 1H65?
