1st - can you please tell me which side of the steering wheel the indicators and wipers stalks are on your car? I have a 66 912 RHD and the indicator is on the rh side, seems wrong to me but when I tried to change it to the left the wires were too short to plug in correctly.

    Thanks
    Reuben

Hi Reuben, the indicators are on the RH side, the wipers are on the left of the column......

There's been talk here about some cars have hooks (or squarish loops) in the front trunk, apparently for securing luggage. I just stumbled upon this option in the September 1966 Accessories Price List:

    Bestel l-Nr. Artikel
    Order No. Description
    No. de comm. Article
No d'ordine Descrizione DM US $
9247 Expander zur Befestigung der Koffer im Fond 6.00 $1.50
644.802.015.00 Elastic strap for fastening suitcases in trunk
Tendeur en caoutchouc pour ten Ir les valises de fond
Cinghia elastica per fissaggio valigeria sulla panchina posteriore

There's no picture. Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Does it fit with the luggage hooks in some of the front trunks?

    Expander

While looking for the leather straps, this "Expander" item shows up in different languages in the accessories listings and on some kardex's.

The 644.802.015.01 item number as pictured here is from the 356 era...um.... that would be the 1964 and 1965 911's made along side all of those wonderful 356C's.

It can be found in the Parts book in the accessories section 0/4 page 1.

Expander zur Befestigung der Koffer im Fond [Expander to fasten the luggage in the rear] is a lot less interesting than "Elastic strap for fastening suitcases in trunk"

I got excited but it looks like somebody just mistranslated "Fond" as "trunk" and the "expander" has nothing to do with those hooks in the trunk.

911T1971, is there any chance you could post decent scans of the entire Pricelist, swiss market, February 18th, 1965?

Re your translation above, Fond is french and means "rear", "back".
I think they never say these Expanders are meant for the front compartment/trunk, but for the rear area, like leather straps.
But what about these could be used for both rear and front compartment ?

I am wondering if not the german/italian/french was wrong BUT the engiish translation "trunk".
If it would be the "trunk", the word in German would be "Kofferraum" or in French "coffre/malle arriere".
But they write "Fond": It would makes sense to secure the luggage in the rear or back ie "Fond".

    Below the pricelist I own.
For Swiss markets its beleived to be one of the earlist known in existence, if not the earliest ever.
