I also have only seen mounts like in Bob's left picture (post 496) and combined with the carpet hooks. The ones in his right picture I have never seen, nor the board Franz showed.
I would guess Bob's right picture car is 1964 and like Franz' car does not have the carpet hooks either (Franz, Bob, pls confirm); this was a known change from 64 to 65 and I have seen no 65 car without the carpet hooks (338 does not have them but seems an anomaly?)
Ivan, on other features:
- does 1022 have a gold colored 911 logo on the dash or is it silver? This has changed between 835 and 1111, hope to pinpoint this more accurately.
- 6 fold seats changed to 5 between 984 and 1020. Can you confirm 1022 has 5?
Cheers, J

door latch receivers on my 717 car, note they are held on with large phillips screws not 6 or 12 point allen heads. The screws are painted black and it looks factory to me

door stops have threaded inserts not studs sticking out like later ones, and they have an interesting makers mark on them. At some point they switched to a stud sticking out style which would make them easier to mount.

301382 also has similar screws but no traces of black paint.
They don't have the typical markings but pozidrive bits fit mine better than Phillips bits. Pozidrives are probably best known for attaching bindings to skis.
The SWB PET parts catalog [E_911-1_Katalog.pdf] lists two different length screws with the same part numbers: E 999.147.001.02 countersunk-head screw M8 x 35 and E 999.147.001.02 countersunk-head screw M8 x 40. I suspect something as common as a Phillips-head screw wouldn't get an E code.
The LWB PET parts catalog [E_911-73_Katalog.pdf] lists E 999.147.001.02 countersunk-head screw M8 x 35 and 999.219.008.00 countersunk-head screw M8 x 40. The change probably came somewhere between 1969 and 1973.
Aase has this 999.219.008.00 which takes an M8 12 point allen bit:
Prices for 999.219.008.00 countersunk-head screw M8 x 40 run from $ 9.00 to $ 19.00.

your screws look like they may have been originally chromed. Mine look flat and yours look a little convex to me. And your right they do look like pozidrives that were used to attach bindings to skiis.
