nice car, but the Price is......!
911 S 1967 and ...
Sorry to resurrect but just read the whole article. Whatever the price, you cannot dispute that it is a one off, unique piece of Porsche history and plays an important role in the evolution of arguably the most iconic sports car of the last 100 years. Surely that is worth something significant to someone.
Try finding another!
Found this picture, according its source (Aichele/Lewandwosky) its the first Targa prototyp. Built 1964 by Karmann.
Factory records show that 13360 was built on September 10th 1964. There are infos that the second Targa prototyp was 13396.
As what we know that the first Production (Nullserie) Targa was 500001, still existing today in Germany
I wonder if this below is 13360 in its original configuration.

There is also this elusive picture, which I found in a french book (and nowhere else)
It says this car was shown at the 1965 Paris Auto show. The 901/911 Targa was planned to be introduced for Spring 1966, but due to structural problems, delayed into January 1967.
I wonder if this below might be the second Targa prototyp 13396, built in late 1964 and after 13360.
(Note the absence of side door trim, however it does shows the Targa script and 5bar seat equipment of 1965 cars)
Factory infos show that initially, no removable Targa top was planned but a roll-up version.
It later was abbandoned, due to wind instability during driving.
