'71 2.2 in a '66, will the engine tin fit properly?

Newbie question here. As I go back and forth on painting or powder coating the tin for the 1971 2.2 I'm getting ready to put in my '66, I realized I should ask a more important question: Will the tin fit? Is engine tin interchangeable, or would the '71 tin/carrier not fit properly in the '66 ?

    Thanks

The MFI tin is different than the carb tin. I mean, the external dimensions are the same, but things like the holes for the throttle linkage are probably in the wrong place, the MFI tin has some big tubes to carry the preheat for the thermostat, etc.

for all intents and purposes, yes, it will fit and the sheet metal is interchangeable with a few minor "adjustments". If you are dropping a 71 complete engine in your 66 it will fit perfectly. If you are putting the 66 engine tin on the 2.2 your will need to trim a couple of areas.
