As you can see the body uses parts from many different models. (275 GTB Doors?) Which makes total sense as the owner had the world's most famous scrapyard, and plenty of parts to choose from...
I saw this car again this morning but didn't snap any pictures. Spectacular car, made all the more so because it's driven regularly and in anger.

    1958 FERRARI 250 GT DROGO

With his Carrozzeria Sports Cars in Modena, former race driver Piero Drogo created at least 25 custom-bodied cars, including Ferraris and Jaguars. He re-bodied this one in alloy, as a coupe for Pierre De Siebenthal of Switzerland. It has a 250 GTE engine, a competition SWB transmission and windshield, and 275 GTB side windows. Luigi Chinetti imported the car, and the current owner bought it from Harley Cluxton in 1973. This year is particularly special as it marks the 20th Grand for the owner and his Drogo.

It was a great day and a half of driving. Fantastic route with roads that would rival many that we have done as a gruppe. Except that you have to watch out for the Amish buggies and horse sh--. We certainly missed the eastern half of our group. Annual tradition for sure!

    mud flaps

There have been several requests for pictures of how the mud flaps are attached to my car. It's pretty simple, really:

I assume the large notch in the mud flap at the top would fit around the fender lip on a non-flared car.

Great shot but damn the Cayman looks "big" compared to the 911's.

That shot makes the early cars look like reduced size models...the contrast speaks volumes.

So, I finally got to see this car in person this morning at a Coffee & Classics meetup. This afternoon I found myself assembling my 9 year old's new generation Green Machine. I was admiring the steel tubing and pneumatic front tire that was lacking from the Green Machine of my own childhood, when it hit me as to why I love this RallyRod car so much. I've been searching for an improvement over the original design for 30 years. This car embodies all that can be improved with a visceral connection to that Green Machine of my childhood that made me want to go fast...
