    Which Parking Lift to buy?

    Howdy Folks,

Apparently if I want to buy another early 911 car I will need more space.

This leads to my current research project, buying a four post parking lift.

Can you recommend a good quality parking lift manufacturer or supplier in the USA?

    Best Regards,

I've been very pleased with Direct Lift for about 6 years now -- works great. Highly recommend having them set it up.

I got one from Direct Lift: they installed it too. It works fine and is great for storage and working on the car. I got the "tall" version as I am 6ft+ and don't want to hit my head all the time!

Unless you already have one, why not get a two post asymmetrical lift...gives much greater service access when needed than a 4-post and you can still store a car on the lift with another underneath

If you use a four post be sure to buy or fabricate a "floor" for the lift. Leaking fluids will ruin your day; especially brake fluid.

A tall version would be great for not banging your head on it constantly. I usually have my wife park under it and she has no clearance issues.
I have 10' ceilings in my garage and the regular height lift just clears at the highest point to put the lock pins to take the pressure off the
hydraulics for long term storage. It is so tight that the added thickness of 5/8 sheet rock might get scarey.

Personally I like 4 posts over 2 because you don't have to anchor them to the floor and can actually move them to another bay if necessary.
My floor would not support a 2 post anyway and I can't replace the floor easily. They do generally come with "drip trays" too

The bike is a 79 CBX ... Bought it new when I was much younger and crazier. Now it is like me.. a dinosaur.

'79 being the most desirable and painted Perseus Silver makes it a pretty rare bird. Nice.
