    '67 911S Options ?

Trying to determine what options my 67 S targa came with and what must have been added subsequently by the first PO. Got the C of A and it lists the following:

    Tinted glass all around
    Blaupunkt radio ('Frankfurt' US band)
    Antenna (NR 744.988)
    Loudspeaker
    Webasto heater (006.821)
    Dunlop tires (165/15)

Searched Der White's site and found the following list of original equipment and options:

The car (basket case) has barrel headrests, TTG fogs as well as under bumper fogs, Amco bumper bars front and rear, and all of the other standard "S" options listed on Der Whites literature. Obviously the Amco bars are add ons. The car has A/C which was obviously a dealer add on as set forth in lit. Recent posts lead me to believe that the TTG fogs must have been added since all the gurus say not and option for'67.

I guess biggest question is headrests. Listed as an option in Der White's lit but does not appear on C of A. I have seen to C of A's on this site for cars with the barrel headrests and they list "headrests" under options on the C of A. Am working on getting Kardex (Kartex?). If not listed on there can I assume that headrests were probably added at PO's request by dealer action? Interesting to note that sport seats are not listed on Der Whites literature. We know that they existed but when and how were they available?

My intention to restore as left Germany so I will be ditching TTG lights (pretty much not there other than brackets and left grill), Amco bars and headrests (?) Any educated guesses or discussions appreciated. Would also like to know the type of Antenna that is specified; i.e. Hirshman or other, electric or manual.

    Thanks

The antenna is easy, if was electric it would have been mounted on the right fender. No room for the motor on the left side.

You need to check the official Accessories booklet, printed 7.66.

    Here are your options.

    Tinted glass all around

    Blaupunkt radio ('Frankfurt' US band)

    Antenna (NR 744.988)

    Loudspeaker

    Heater (006.821)

    Dunlop tires (165/15)

    Headrests (barrel)

    Fog lights

Ed and Karim. Thanks for answers so far. Looks like its manual antenna since its is on left and the accessory brochure does not seem to reflect electric in '67. Would this be Hirschman brand or was there any other type. Karim - I know headrests were available. Der White's info says that. Big question is whether that would appear on C of A and/or Kardex. If not on either, can I assume not ordered as sent from Germany but added later at dealer?

    Brochure also confirms nt TTG.

    Thanks again

Dont know about headrest but I assume either could be factory ordered or dealer installed.

As for antenna, dont know the brand but yes, the 7.66 accessories booklet does not list an electric antenna.
I know the electric was Hirschmann, maybe Ed knows more.

If it helps, my basket-case '67S came with headrests. They are in fact listed on the CoA.

Well,,,, I don't know more,,,,but I've only ever seen Hirschman's if factory installed. If dealer installed all bets are off.

Thanks again for continuing responses. Brian seems to help with the question of the headrests. His were listed on C of A. Will be interesting to see what my Kardex says. I have heard that not everything on Kardex necessarily gets to COA.

I have leatherette headrests (schlummerrollen K´leder) listed on my Kardex. Option 9446 and 9447 shown by Karim.

If this option is listed on your Kardex, it should also be on the CoA, but maybe the info got lost??

Attaching a nice picture I found of these headrests mounted on Sportsseats.

Even if not regarded factory correct by most people, it would still have been possible to mount TTG lights on a 67 if the owner wanted to. The picture from Brian Long´s book shows an early 67S with TTG lights mounted with bracket through the standard grille.

Here below is another example of additional lights on a 67S.

This is coming from a press photo (attached to a 1967 pricelist by Belgian Porsche importer D'iteren) I own.
Opposite to the car shown above with Carello's ( I beleive), the Belgian 67S below has yet another type/marque of long-range lights. These are not Hella 118 but another typ.
