Help needed : how to connect a 10000rpm tachometer

I need the help of the experts:

I'm facing connectivity problem with my tachometer which does not work properly.

twin plug distributor with points, 2 HKZ CDI boxes, 2 Bosch coils

normally the transistorised tachometer operates on the pulse count principle and shows engine speed in revolution per minute (rpm)

could you please explain how to connect the different wires in order to get this tacho showing the correct rpm.

    thank you in advance.

    Regards from France.

connect a wire from the points terminal on the side of the distributor that triggers the BHKZ to the tach.

The BHKZ contains a "pull-up" resistor to power the tacho drive circuit.

you only need to wire up one, I assume your plugs fire simultaneously.

your tach should be a later (10.70 onward) version with a "C" on the terminal on the back. if you have /1, you need some kind of a tach adapter

hope this helps. do NOT touch anything to the "A" terminal on the BHKZ! (High Voltage ! )
