    The Phoenix Show, 2014 . . .

    I know-I know-I know . . .

. . . some of this has already come up in another thread. And I don't want to take away from those posts . . . but I'd rather make a Smaller Mess here --- than a Bigger One there --- so . . . .

Day started-out looking kinda promising. Drove the 90-some miles from Simi Valley down to Lake Forest to collect The Nasty Car. Things were damp but not a drop of rain. Even saw some blue-sky

Got to the garage, switched cars, locked-up, then headed up to The Phoenix Show in Anaheim

    As I pulled out --- well . . . little mist started falling . . .

    . . . which turned into a light/steady shower . . .

. . . which lasted most of the morning

The Good News is that the crowd was down maybe 75% --- especially cars-wise . . . . which meant that I actually got to park in the plaza/courtyard/inner sanctum for the first time EVER --- w/o having to get there at WtF o'clock

Ok --- I got stuck under a pine tree . . . but it was small/polite pine tree

The Bad News is . . . there wasn't any. Rain d@mmit --- RAIN! How can anything that helps w/ traffic/parking/air quality/Life on Planet Earth possibly be bad?

And besides . . . Nasty Car hasn't had a bath since Summer, anyway

Least I had a rain coat

Saw your car there, Rick. Very nice.

Was attendance really down 75%? Can't imagine. I thought the turnout was great. Can't wait to see it next year at capacity (I hope).

Interesting statistic from the 356 Club...car count down as stated above. Walk in gate up 50%! All this means is that in spite of the weather, body count was about the same as last year. Great day, but I certainly prefer sunshine! Thanks to all that showed from all over the world! See you all, same time next year...

    Yeah, JP . . .

The cars showing up were WAY down. Last few years, that big grass area --- aka the Back Yard . . . gets filled w/ cars . . .

    . . . not this year

    Maybe next?

    That's great!

Lotta cars were still there . . . so, hope all those people had a good time --- and come back next year!

Funny how things work out. The grass area was a bog. They told me on Saturday that I could not use it. The rain kept the vintage Porsche count down and therefore, there was no need for the grass area. The Phoenix Club is happy and we'll be back in 2015!

I guess I will copy these here since it is a better place for them than the Lit Show thread...

This color really grabbed me today. I think it is Adriatic Blue but whatever it is I really wanted to buy this car.

Don't get confused. There were at least 3 yellow 914's there. 2 with GT flares.

Mexico Blue, just a little too light for me, but still an excellent car.
