    PORSCHE lettering (decklid) question

When restoring cars that originally had black anodized lettering, emblem and grill on the decklids (1972 and 1973?), do finicky people have their parts re-anodized black, paint the parts, or just leave them faded and scratched to keep the patina? If re-anodized, who does this sort of work (well), if painted, what sort of paint and technique is used? Thanks for your invaluable advice!

Here is one of mine with the original lettering and Grill, nice faded gun metal look to it!

That's some nice lettering, and that's good advertising for what you have (had) for sale, but it's not at all responsive to my specific questions.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I would really appreciate your help on this. Thanks!

I searched the Pep Boys touch up paint department until I found a color that had the look of faded anodizing and sprayed that on. Since I would be judged at Parade concours I figured a look of slightly faded anodizing would look better to a judges eye than incorrect fresh black.
