Thanks Mark, I couldn't find them on their website, will look again.
Stoddard seat buffer vs buffer on as sport seat. Sport seat buffer with grooves and much thicker
DUH! Absolutely right!
And I have a set of sports in my '69!
No one has the sport seat buffer...( I've made that search) you can fabricate a very close duplicate using the standard buffer as the base and glueing shaped piece of cut sheet rubber on top of it.
Several suppliers have sheet EPDM in various thicknesses. Use Loctite 380 "Black Magic."
Or find someone who could make a mold and make them! Tap plastics has kits for making rubber molds at home. Problem might be finding a substrate with the proper durometer.

Any update on availability on these (the rubber piece on the left in post #4)?
One group in the UK was planning to reproduce these, but I haven't heard that it ever happened.

How many are needed?

I could use a set as well, two per seat so 4 if you have them.

Jeff Haas asked me recently if I ever found these, and that prompted me to take another look. It's been 5 years so I thought someone might be making reproductions at this point. Turns out that Carpoint is making them (carpoint.de). I just ordered a set and they arrived quickly. The appearance is pretty much spot on. The center hole is a tad larger, but the originals may have compressed a bit over the years. The new ones are also softer, but that's not unexpected either.
The only issue is that the mounting post is a bit too narrow, so they need a bit of adhesive or RTV to get them mounted securely.
Original on the left, Carpoint on the right.
