    Amelia Island Concours Porsche Pictorial

Really nice review of the stunning collection of racing 911s at Amelia Island from Sports Car Digest.

The captions for each car are quite good. Here's something I didn't know. This pertains to the 1971 STR Safari car:

"The East African Safari was considered one of the most difficult motorsport challenges of the day, and Porsche partnered with Sears Tires to promote their tires’ durability over the course of this grueling event."

Sears? And the tires have white stripes!

Here is a gallery from this past week's event.
It gets better every year. And more crowded. I dare say the best in North America.

Here are selected pictures of the ones that I took. It is really quite overwhelming. Everything is represented, from 1900s series antiques, to brass cars, to unveilings of McLarens and Lamborghinis. I did not even get to the Can-Am cars! Lots of fun but not an inexpensive weekend. They even have music (live-canned) in the background!

Thanks for sharing this. There are some fantastic cars in this video.

I would love to be able to get there for a look one day.

    Cheers,

    Harry.
